Garden Cartography

Espace Partagé, Public library Hélène-Pedneault, coordinated by the Centre Bang, Jonquière, April 18 to August 26, 2023

This corpus is the result of a close look at my garden and the cartography of my region through various processes. Thus, from a hydrographic map of the Saguenay, lakes are traced on a wooden support with black ink and the shape is inverted with silver ink, while the Saguenay River is painted in a light turquoise. A three-perspective view of my house from the garden, the night, is concentrated in a circle. Nearby, elements harvested from the garden and others handmade form a plant collection. Similarly, a delicata squash appears in a superimposition of states and reappears in an inverted form tinted blue-green, like an aquatic reflection. Another pumpkin is doubled to become sculptural under a glass dome. Furthermore, atypical carrots are the main subject of printed drawings, from which an evanescent red form and another amber one emerge at the top. Finally, somewhat recessed, patterns of vegetable slices, scanned in negative and in shades of gray, reveal the internal structure. Curator: Laurie Boivin.
