The Ecology of Lines

Galerie l’Œuvre de l’Autre, Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, Saguenay, 2017

“[…] the hare. […] It seems that his gaze pacifies the Universe. ” D’Annunzio, Fire. For this exhibition, I traced the vegetal veins of plants in my environment. Later, these lines multiplied with the intention of creating new complex structures that refer to organic, cerebral and cartographic dimensions. My interest in the territory and the notion of inhabiting is concretized by the construction of miniature shelters and the reproduction of hydrographic maps of the Saguenay region. This creative research has as its theoretical basis the idea of an ecology of the line, as stated by the anthropologist Tim Ingold, for whom we live in a world of lines,

This project received financial support from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec through a Research and Creation grant.
